You will always experience a consultation and skin analysis by your esthetician at the beginning of your service before your chemical peel to determine the level of intensity, to understand lifestyle information and to assess the condition/integrity of the skin in order for you to receive the best peel the day of your service. Be sure to inform your esthetician of any sensitivities, allergies, medications (oral or topical that you are on) and of any special events that you have coming up.
Q. What do chemical peels do
Improve the texture of your skin, increase cell turnover rate, improve your skin’s ability to hold moisture, help your skin produce more collagen, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, decrease hyperpigmentation, unclog pores and help clear up acne, leave your skin smooth, make your skin softer, make your skin look more even-toned, give you a “glow”, improve minor to deep scarring. If it sounds too good to be true, just ask anyone who has experienced a chemical peel – the results are real.
Circadia Lactic and Alpha-Beta Peels
These chemical peels are designed to exfoliate the skin with the perfect blend of acids without harshness, irritation or inflammation. A new technology in chemical peels, Circadia has formulated these products so that guests experience results (smoother, fresher, brighter, clearer) without the “downtime” typically associated with peels. Nicknamed “lunchtime peels”, these products allow you to leave without any more redness or irritation than you would experience from a normal facial.
Circadia Mandeliclear and Jessner Peels
A traditional Jessner’s Peel is a combination of 14% Resorcinol, 14% Lactic, and 14% Salicylic Acid. Since resorcinol is a peeling agent, the client will experience noticeable peeling or flaking approximately 3 to 4 days after the peel which can continue for 5-7 days. Resorcinol will increase the amount of peeling experienced after a peel. Peeling is usually light to moderate and depends on the skin condition and depth of the peel. This chemical peel is ideal for deeper scarring, pigmentation, aging.
The MandeliClear Peel System was developed specifically for attenuating pigmentation issues. The system can be classified as a modified Jessner, containing 7% lactic, 7% salicylic and 7% resorcinol, in an ethanol base with quillaja bark. It also contains 9% mandelic acid, which is often derived from almond and wild cherry sources. This peel is safe, gentle, and well tolerated by most skin types. Some guests do not notice visible peeling, some have light flaking, and some have more intense peeling depending on their skin type and skin’s condition. This peel is amazing to resurface the skin and really targets pigmentation, without having quite the intensity of “downtime” as the Jessner and can be used on darker skin types.
