Breast Augmentation

SCULPT Contemporary Cosmetic Surgery in Omaha, Nebraska was awarded “Best Breast Augmentation” by Omaha Magazine, for the second year in a row. SCULPT offers both silicone and saline breast implants. Breast implants are a wonderful option to restore shape and size for women who have lost volume in their chest, due to weigh loss or childbirth and breastfeeding. Breast implants are also a great option for those who are looking to increase the size of their breasts for aesthetic reasons.

Dr. Gerard J. Stanley, Jr. utilizes a revolutionary approach to minimize post-operative pain and discomfort, as well as minimizing downtime. His technique is what makes SCULPT Contemporary Cosmetic Surgery in Omaha different that other cosmetic and plastic surgeons in the Midwest. Dr. Stanley uses tumescent fluid to create the breast pocket for the implant. This is a much more gentle and ginger approach to the traditional way of doing breast augmentation. We have found that Dr. Stanley’s breast augmentation is extremely popular among working women and busy moms who do not have the time for the typical two to four week downtime that comes with the traditional breast augmentation offered at other cosmetic and plastic surgery centers in the Omaha area.

Breast Augmentation patients undergo IV anesthesia, or “Goldilocks” anesthesia during their breast augmentation surgery at SCULPT. You will be in a light sleep during your surgery, but can comfortably interact with our surgical staff if needed. Our licensed, certified nurse anesthetist (CRNA) will safely manage your medicine and sedation and make sure you are comfortable during your surgery. This method avoids the risks of general anesthesia. Your safety and well-being are our top priority.

Many of our patients who have had breast implants at SCULPT Cosmetic Surgery in Omaha, Nebraska marvel at how different their experience was, compared to their friends who have had traditional procedures. SCULPT patients are up and walking within minutes of their surgery. In fact, Dr. Stanley encourages activity after surgery. Many of our patients are back to their normal lifestyle within a week. Conversely, traditional procedures have a two to four week recovery time, as patients who undergo traditional breast augmentation are also recovering from the effects of general anesthesia.

Dr. Stanley’s philosophy on breast augmentation is that it should bring harmony to your life, while maintaining your natural proportions and minimizing surgical risks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Breast Implants

Q. What is the difference between saline & silicone implants?

The biggest difference between saline and silicone implants is silicone implants feel more like natural breast tissue. The silicone implants we use at SCULPT are also known as “gummy bear implants,” because they are designed to be cohesive, and minimize the risk of leakage. Saline implants are more cost-effective.

Q. What happens at my breast augmentation consultation?

You will first sit down with Dr. Stanley and his assistant to go over your goals, lifestyle, and expectations. Then, Dr. Stanley will step out of the room so you can change. Next, he will perform an exam. Then, Dr. Stanley’s assistant will aid you in trying on sizers to determine your desired implant size. Finally, you will sit down with our Patient Services Coordinator to schedule your surgical date.

Q. Do I get to choose the size of my implants?

Yes. While Dr. Stanley and SCULPT’s qualified medical staff help assist you in sizing, you absolutely make the final decision on the size, shape, and profile of your breast implant.

Q. Where does Dr. Stanley make his incision?

Dr. Stanley uses three different locations for his incision. The most common location is an inframammary approach, in which the scar is hidden in the fold below the breast. Dr. Stanley can also place the incision in the periareolar region, so that the scar is hidden at the transition between normal breast tissue and the nipple complex. A third approach is through the armpit, or a transaxillary approach.

Q. Can I couple this surgery with other breast surgery and cosmetic surgery?

Yes. Many times, women opt to have a breast lift, in addition to their breast augmentation surgery at SCULPT in Omaha. This not only adds volume, but also enhances the shape of the breast for women who experience severe sagging or volume loss. Some women also couple tummy tuck or liposuction surgery with their breast augmentation, to contour their new figure.

Q. Do breast implants interfere with future breastfeeding?

Any breast surgery can interfere with future breastfeeding, but careful planning and the appropriate choice of implants can minimize that risk.

Q. Do breast implants interfere with mammograms?

As long as you get a digital mammogram, the implants do not interfere with routine mammography. In addition to this, the manufacturer’s recommendation for routine breast MRI to evaluate the implants will also give the radiologist an additional modality by which to image the surrounding breast tissue.

Q. How much do breast implants at SCULPT Cosmetic Surgery in Omaha cost?

Saline implants start at $4500, and silicone implants start at $5600. There is also a $750 facility fee. You are also responsible for the cost of your compression garments and medication.
